You place the bots u want to tourney in your bots folder, and note their positions when going into "Workshop" and "Open Bot".
run the tourney.exe, and on the second tab, add to the list, the postitions and names of the bots u want to fight. once they have been entered, you queue the fights, selecting bot1, bot2 and the arena
when thats done, you should close down all other applications, including things that may popup and interupt the tourney cooker (as it works by simulating keystrokes and mouse clicks) such as msn messenger.
on the third page you can get a format for date stamping the .rec fights (which will be automatically renamed and placed on the battle subfolder) and setting a timeout for a fight.
then press the cook tourney button, and RF will start, and be controlled by the tourney cooker, via mouse clicks and key presses (yes, i know, its a crap way to do it, but it works)
Please note:
if the following things occur, the fight will be restarted:
RF is closed
RF crashes
the battle does not start within one minute of pressing the stat button (or thinking it pressed the start button)
the fight does not finish within the specified timeout period
each new battle will kill the old RF session, and start a new one
tourney events are saved in a file called TourneyLog.log in the same folder as tourney.exe
Coming Soon:
persistent data
randomizing matchups
auto seeding of round robin fights
autodetecting bot names
validating the .rec file, to ensure it matches the bots selected (incase the cooker chose the wrong ones)
Please note, this version is awaiting testing with win95/98/me
please give feedback if you are using any of these versions
